  3. Inspect the pots and utensil kits and replace or repair any missing or damaged items.
  4. Unpack the tent bag and check that all the equipment is there and in good shape to use. Replace or repair any missing or damaged items. Make sure all the scouts have personal ground cloths.
  5. Make sure the patrol First Aid kit is complete.
  6. Check the food supplies, including condiments and spices. If you need troop equipment for your cooking, check it out from the Quartermaster or make sure the Troop carries it on the trip.
  7. Maintain a patrol checklist of common items, such as trash bags, plastic bags, tinfoil, rope, string, toilet paper, liquid soap etc. and check that you have all items.
  8. When backpacking, allocate the weight fairly to each patrol member.
  9. Check that all patrol members have the clothes and equipment they need for the event (See the Personal Equipment List).
  10. Treat your equipment well  during and after the event and it will serve you well for a long time. (see the maintenance instructions).
