Eli Roxby - #254
Eli Roxby was born on June 6, 1987 in the Bronx, New York City. He moved to Paoli when he was 3 years old where he now lives with his parents and brother, Gabe, Devon 50 Eagle #243.
Eli started as a Tiger Scout and was an active cub scout in Pack 112, where he completed Webelos and earned the Arrow of Light in 1998. In June of 1998 he joined D-50 as a member of the Beaver Patrol. His first two years, Eli attended almost every trip and was awarded the Thomas Stilwell, Jr. Plaque for most enthusiastic scout in 1999. He was elected to the Order of the Arrow and completed his Ordeal in September 2000. Eli was PL of Beaver Patrol for 2000 – 2001 year and was awarded the JB Rettew III Trophy for outstanding patrol leader. Beaver Patrol also won the Crawford Cup for competition against other troops, the Ellison-Whyte Trophy for patrol with best advancement, and the Lenker-Flood Plaque as best overall patrol. Eli was awarded the J Barton Rettew Jr. Plaque in June 2001 for best advancement record.
Eli sold many wreaths for D-50, and in 2002 was a member of the $1000 club and won top patrol salesman. A first for Devon 50, Eli earned the Ner Tamid religious emblem for Judaism in 2001. Eli has participated in many Devon 50 trips including the National Jamboree in Camp AP Hill in 2001. His favorite trip was the high adventure canoe trip to Quetico Provincial Park, in Canada in 2002.
For his Eagle Project, Eli led a scout team in the clean up of a stream bed in a Cedar Hollow Preserve for the Open Land Conservancy, which involved cutting down overgrown vines, removing large logs blocking the stream bed and hauling away trash items.
